FLAT WEAVE

A flat-weave is a general term used to categorize any type of weaving that does not have a pile. Examples of flat-weave constructions include kilims, çiçim, and soumac. These weavings are created using techniques that produce a flat, smooth surface rather than a raised pile. Flat-weaves are often lightweight, versatile, and durable, making them suitable for a variety of purposes, from rugs and wall hangings to bags and other textiles.
