The Bakhtiari, a nomadic group in southern Persia, share a Persian dialect with archaic features with the Lur people. They migrate between the central Zagros mountains and the Ahvaz region, and are also settled in villages east of the Shahr Kord mountains, known as the Chahar Mahal.
